In light of the current geopolitical turmoil and issues proper to the 21st century, it is undeniable that more-and-more countries will seek the services provided by the ICJ. A shifting world order from a singular to a bipolar one, then succeeded by a multipolar power balance has led to an increased role of the ICJ with the millennial breakthrough, suggesting an ever-increasing role of this institution in the future. This booklet goes beyond sharing information about the ICJ with interested readers. It analyses the question of whether the work of the ICJ has a continued meaning for the world community, despite the latter’s trend towards a global dynamics of multipolar power or perhaps, due to that the bulk of its pages are employed in the description and brief analysis of some of the most important cases that the ICJ has dealt with in its entire history, including that of the PCIJ. This choice of method honours the main function of the Court, which is judicial. Therefore, the booklet uncovers some of the best guarded secrets of this international institution, its actual judgments throughout the decades.
